What is The MySQL Librarian?

MySQL Librarian aims to be a place for all of the MySQL Community to place the links to the best MySQL-related material on the web. We keep finding fantastic data spread all over the web from presentations to articles and pictures that we want to share. So if you have a favourite link to a tip, article or something MySQL cool add it to the Librarian and share it with others.

Can I search the Tags?

To search tags you may enter a comma delimited list into the search input box on the sidebar preceded by "Tags:". For example, searching for the tags "MySQL" and "Open Source" will require you to enter "Tags: MySQL, Open Source". Try it out and see!

Can I edit a link's tags to make them more relevant?

Yes! We have enabled the ability to edit any link's tags if you are logged in. Be warned, please do not abuse this privilege. Simply click "edit" next to the tags, enter the tags, or remove tags that are incorrect and click "go".

How does voting on MySQL Librarian work??

We've enabled voting on entries on a thumbs up/thumbs down system as long as you have a MySQL.com account. To vote, register for a MySQL.com account and then login to vote, choose thumbs up or thumbs down next to any of the entries.

Can I search the MySQL Librarian?

You may search the links on the Librarian. Simply type in your search string into the "Ask Librarian" search box available in the sidebar. We use MySQL's FULLTEXT search capabilities on a MyISAM table. You may use the options that are available for boolean mode searches to customize your search as required.

How do I add a custom search to my browser for the Librarian?

In your browser you can add the MySQL Librarian as a search option. In Firefox drop down your search menu and you will see the option to add MySQL Librarian as a Search option. At the moment this is only available to Firefox.
